The role and efficacy of magnesium sulfate fertilizer:

Magnesium sulfate is an ideal raw material for the manufacture of compound fertilizers. It can be mixed with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium into compound fertilizers or mixed fertilizers according to different needs. It can also be mixed with one or more elements into various fertilizers and photosynthetic fertilizers, which can loosen the soil and improve the soil quality. It provides the soil with two elements, magnesium and sulfur. It provides rich nutrients for crops and helps crops grow and improve yield and quality. At the same time, magnesium sulfate has a higher solubility than other fertilizers, which is conducive to the absorption of crops; In addition, the application of magnesium sulfate can also promote the absorption of silicon and phosphorus by crops.

Magnesium sulfate is a soluble and physiologically acidic fertilizer. It can be used as base fertilizer (bottom fertilizer), top fertilizer, irrigation fertilizer, and foliar fertilizer. For fruit trees, rubber trees, tobacco leaves, legumes and vegetables, potatoes, corn, wheat, cereals and other crops, agricultural magnesium sulfate can increase crops by 15-50% compared to compound fertilizers that do not contain magnesium and sulfur.

As a fertilizer, magnesium sulfate can be directly used as base fertilizer, top fertilizer and foliar fertilizer. It can be applied separately or mixed as one of the components. It can be used in traditional agriculture or in high-value-added precision agriculture, flowers and soilless cultivation. The agricultural usage and dosage of magnesium sulfate are as follows:

1. Magnesium sulfate is used as a base fertilizer:

Magnesium sulfate can be mixed with other fertilizers or organic fertilizers and sprinkled in the soil before arable land. Generally, agricultural magnesium sulfate is used for about 10 kilograms per acre.

2. Magnesium sulfate is used as top dressing:

The top dressing with magnesium sulfate needs to be applied early, and it can be applied in ditches or flushed with water.Generally, each acre of land is suitable for the application of 10-13 kg of magnesium sulfate, and generally 250-500 grams of magnesium sulfate can be applied to each fruit tree; after sufficient magnesium fertilizer is applied, it can be applied to a few crops every few stubbles, without having to apply it to crops every season.

3. Magnesium sulfate is used for foliar spraying:

In order to correct the symptoms of magnesium deficiency in crops, magnesium sulfate can be used for extra-root top dressing, but the effect of foliar spraying is not long-lasting. In order to achieve the effect, several sprays should be carried out continuously. The use of foliar spraying of magnesium sulfate can be carried out in the early and middle stages of crop growth; for different crops, the concentration of magnesium sulfate spraying during the reproductive period is not the same. Generally, the concentration of magnesium sulfate spraying on the foliar surface is: fruit trees 0.5%-1.0%, vegetables 0.2%-0.5%, rice, cotton, corn 0.3%-0.8%, and the general magnesium fertilizer solution applied per acre is about 50 -150 kg.

4. Precautions:

Magnesium sulfate fertilizer is a trace element fertilizer and should not be applied in large quantities. If it is used with liquid fertilizer, the concentration generally does not exceed 0.5g/L; if it is used with solid fertilizer, the magnesium sulfate mixed in 1500kg farm fertilizer per acre is also about 50kg. If the amount of magnesium sulfate used in agriculture is too large, it will affect the normal growth of plants and fruit quality.

Agricultural magnesium sulfate, as a supplement and additive to magnesium in feed processing, as well as an activator of various enzymes in livestock and poultry, plays an extremely important role in the metabolism and nerve function of livestock and poultry. If the body lacks magnesium, it will lead to material metabolism and nerve dysfunction, supply disorders, affect the growth and development of livestock and poultry, and even lead to death.

In the field of feed, magnesium is the component that makes up the bones and teeth of livestock. It is needed for the normal development of bones. It is also an activator of various enzymes and plays an important role in sugar and protein metabolism. Magnesium sulfate for feed in Northern Sichuan has good water solubility and high biological potency. It is easily absorbed and utilized by chickens, ducks, geese, horses, cattle, sheep, deer and other livestock and poultry, so it can provide the magnesium needed during the growth of livestock and poultry, which promotes bone growth and increases production.
